Cover Reveal: Capstone by Misty Provencher
I’m happy to announce the fourth book in the Cornerstone series! This came as a huge shock to me, since I didn’t realized that book three had been released. You can check out my reviews of book 1 + 2 HERE.
Yes, it is a series worth checking out!
Misty Provencher also has a couple of New Adult books out, but they’re contemporary so…yeah.
Capstone (Cornerstone #4) by Misty Provencher
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Expected Date of Publication: September 30th, 2013
It’s supposed to stink. That’s what Cusps do.
The Ianua, Nalena and Garrett’s own community, have welcomed them back by charging them as traitors and chucking them into the Hotel Celare’s slammer.
And outside the fortress walls, it’s no better.
The Cusp is at full-boil as the world finally surrenders to The Fury’s lifestyle. Looting, riots, murders—every kind of crime has become the norm—and The Fury want to make it all permanent. They might even succeed, now that they’ve nabbed all thirteen of the Ianua’s Cornerstones.
To preserve mankind, the only chance the Ianua have left is to beat The Fury to the Earth’s Core and somehow trigger the Reset.
Like that’s easy.
There’s no manual on how to activate a Reset. Nobody even knows if there’s an actual Core to the Earth.
Shoot, it could be one big myth; an epic waste of effort.
But the Addo thinks there is one last hope.
So long as someone is willing to sacrifice everything to be mankind’s long shot.
Other books in the series:
Brutally honest – this is not my favorite cover in the series. I’m in absolute love with Keystone’s cover!
Okay, first I like how this is the first cover where Nalena isn’t whitewashed. I can actually appreciate her ethnicity here. Nalena is a very easy character to connect with in the series and I like how she finally looks like I envision her.
Secondly, I do like how rich the colors look.
Thirdly, this cover adds more cohesiveness to the series covers. Before this one was revealed, the third one looked way out of place. This cover takes the stone elements of the third cover and ties them with the picture elements of the first two books. I kind of wish that both the third and forth books were more similar to the first two, but returning completely to that style with this cover alone would have made the third cover stick out like a black sheep.
I also wish that there was some sort of interaction between Nalena and Garrett on the cover. They don’t appear to be a couple and I wonder if that ties to the book or if it was an artistic decision. Actually, this is the same pose from the first cover. Hm, that’s interesting. I didn’t notice that until now. Maybe the characters are coming full circle? I wonder…
Oh, and nipples. Tee-hee!
